Altar Servers provide assistance to the priest in the celebration of Mass and other liturgical celebrations.  This ministry provides members of the parish the opportunity to serve the church in a  meaningful way while growing their faith.  St. John's is blessed to have more than a dozen youthful altar servers who are part of the parish's Religious Education Program or who have recently completed their formal religious education.

Pope John Paul II famously said in addressing a group of altar servers in 2001, " The Altar Server has a priveleged place in liturgical celebrations. In the liturgy they are far more than "helpers of the parish priest".  They are servants of Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest."
